"And what can we do for you?"

Oil on canvas
Released as a limited edition of 100 numbered & signed fine art digital reproductions

I have often seen people cock their heads to the side to make better eye contact with the fledgling morepork on the left in this painting. These little fellows were photographed for a story about a bird rescue centre on the North Shore. As you can see, the one on the right is a little older than the other. Despite having been rescued at different times and from different nests they had buddied up together.

The morepork (or ruru) is New Zealand’s only native owl and among my favourite New Zealand birds. In the past I have borrowed bird specimens from the Auckland Museum, including a morepork I once used for a study. This painting though, is based on a little photo I noticed on the front page of our local paper and the reporter kindly gave me a good copy of it to work from.

"And what can we do for you?" has been released as a limited edition of one hundred hand-numbered and signed digital prints on canvas. The quality of these prints is such that even the owner of the original painting itself believed he was looking at the original, when in fact he was looking at a print in the same frame.

The framing we supply is as per the photo at the bottom of the page. It is a timber frame finished in a lovely dappled bronze with a gold inner edge.
